Dick K. Barton is executive vice president and director of Sales and Strategic Planning of Hawthorn, PNC Family Wealth®, which is dedicated to serving the needs of individuals and families with investable assets in excess of $20 million. Mr. Barton is responsible for the national sales, marketing and strategic planning for Hawthorn.
Mr. Barton joined Pittsburgh National Bank, now The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., management training program in 1974. He was appointed vice president and manager of the Oil and Gas Group in the bank's Commercial Banking Division in 1982. From 1987, he served as manager of the Regional Banking department. During 1990 and 1991, he served as managing director of PNC International Financial Services, Ltd., in Sydney Australia. Mr. Barton returned to Pittsburgh following his international assignment to head the sales and marketing for the Investment and Trust Business lines. In 1995, he was appointed senior vice president and Pittsburgh market manager for Family Wealth Management, the predecessor of Hawthorn, along with the corporate coordinating role for Private Banking.
Active in the community, Mr. Barton serves on the boards of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Epilepsy Foundation of Western/Central Pennsylvania and was the founding chairman of the Combined Health Appeal of Western Pennsylvania (now part of the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania). He is a long-standing member of the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Barton is a graduate of the University of Denver, where he holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Mr. Barton participated in The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) Executive Education on Strategic Planning (2000).
